Little Boots: Illuminations

LITTLE BOOTS RELEASES “ILLUMINATIONS” EP OUT ON ELEKTRA RECORDS
BRITISH DANCE-POP SENSATION ANNOUNCES NORTH AMERICAN TOUR DATES KICKING OFF SEPTEMBER 14TH IN TORONTO

British dance-pop sensation Little Boots will release her much- anticipated EP “ILLUMINATIONS” on the newly
re- launched Elektra Records. “ILLUMINATIONS” which is available in the U.S. and Canada only serves as an ideal introduction to Little Boots’ acclaimed brand of futuristic electro-pop. The five-track EP features rare and exclusive tracks alongside her new single, “New In Town,” and the irrepressible anthem, “Stuck on Repeat,” which started it all. Both singles will be included on Little Boots’ eagerly awaited full-length debut, “HANDS,” due later this year here in the U.S.
In addition, “ILLUMINATIONS” features an exclusive digital booklet and the striking “New In Town” music video, directed by Jake Nava (Kylie Minogue, Beyonce, Britney Spears). The clip is streaming now at Little Boots’ official MySpace page, www.myspace.com/littlebootsmusic, and has recently been named one of MTVU’s Freshmen Five.
Little Boots has also announced a short string of North American tour dates in support of “ILLUMINATIONS” beginning September 14th in Toronto, ONT. The 5-city tour will hit NYC’s famed Bowery Ballroom on September 16th as well as LA’s Roxy Theatre on September 18th (See below for full listing of dates).
Before hitting the U.S. and Canada in September Little Boots will perform at many of the major summer festival including the UK’s prestigious Glastonbury, Reading and Leeds’ Festivals, Scotland’s T-In The Park, Japan’s Summersonic and Denmark’s Roskilde amongst many others.
Little Boots- known to her family and friends as Victoria Hesketh- is without question the most talked-about new UK pop star of the year. The Blackpool-born Hesketh first captured attention as a member of electro-indie combo Dead Disco. Opting to pursue a solo career as Little Boots, she assembled an arsenal of synths and began airing her developing work on YouTube for all to see.
Despite not yet having a proper single to her name, Little Boots came in at #1 on the BBC’s influential “Sound of 2009” survey, a sentiment uniformly agreed upon by most every other British media outlet. And no wonder – tracks like “Stuck On Repeat” and the limited edition debut club pounder, “Meddle,” are imaginative and intense, with melancholic tension and an effortless way with hooks.
Here in the U.S., Little Boots has already drawn unprecedented acclaim for an artist yet to release a debut album. “(Hesketh) writes exquisitely constructed pop songs so innately appealing,” wrote New York Magazine, “you’re certain you danced to them at your prom.” Rolling Stone has named her a “Breaking Artist” while Nylon hails, “Synth sensation Victoria Hesketh a.k.a. Little Boots is poised to reinvent pop one small dance step at a time.”
